Food for Thought

A mission to combat hunger at the local level, Food for Thought provides food for school-year weekends for food-at-risk students at local middle schools in Baltimore County. Volunteers are needed to purchase specific food items and to help pack the bags of food.

Our Mid High Youth Group help stage and assemble backpacks of food for school children who have limited food sources while at home for weekends.

Mission Highlight

Historicaly, there has been a great turnout to pack the bags for the children. During the school year, we have received about $3400 and 620 gift cards. The school would love to have people visit when Marcia delivers.

We were 66 bags packed to go to Dumbarton and Ridge Ruxton Schools. It is just wonderful to make such a difference for these students. One year at winter break, Hunt’s was able to give each child at Dumbarton a $50 Giant gift card for food. These gift cards were donated by members of our congregation. Thank you so much for your generosity.
