Helping Up Mission

Helping Up Mission (HUM) is an addiction treatment center in Baltimore, Maryland for men on the path to recovery. In 2022 HUM opened the Center for Women & Children.

When a man enters the Helping Up Mission program to begin his one-year residential Spiritual Recovery journey, he is provided with the tools needed for life-long sobriety. These tools include spiritual life classes, 12-step meetings, clothing, counseling, job search skills, job placement, responsibilities and more.

He is provided with necessities that he may have lacked while “on the street.” Aside from a full complement of clothing (pants, shirts, shoes, suits, and undergarments), he is provided a toiletry kit of items for a healthy hygiene regimen.

Hunt’s Church assists by donating personal hygiene kits for men and men & women’s clothing.

Can you help provide 1 (or more) of the 650 hygiene kits needed each year?   These personal hygiene and toiletry products can help start a new life.  Examples of needed items are:  Shaving cream, razors, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, tooth brushes, Q-Tips, dental floss, shampoo, combs, and tissues.  Also needed are men’s undershirts and boxer-style undergarments, Medium and Large.

The Helping Up Mission has a band that tours and plays music local churches.

Mission Highlight

Representatives from Helping Up Mission, including their choir and band, join Worship at Hunt’s Church once a year, usually in the late spring. They share their message and fantastic music. If you were here last year, you can attest to the inspiration of their message. Please invite your friends and neighbors. Join us in uplifting this event!  Check the calendar, bulletin, and weekly emails for this year’s date.
