Assistance Center of Towson Churches
The Assistance Center of Towson Churches (ACTC) offers an ecumenical program providing help for the poor and needy in our community. Churches in the Baltimore County region, including Hunt’s, participate in this outreach effort. Hunt’s supports this mission year-round, with monetary donations and donations of food, including Thanksgiving bags every November, and special donation efforts during the Month of May.
Special ACTC Collection Months
May is the month that Hunt’s supports the Assistance Center of Towson Churches (ACTC) with food and donations. Despite our progress against the pandemic, the need for food due to economic displacement continues to be high. ACTC needs our support more than ever.
Before you start packing the food, please remember, food donations should include nonperishable, non-expired items in sealed packages.
Below are examples of food and personal items typically collected for this organization.
Pork and beans (can)
Green beans (can)
Peas/Mixed Vegetables (can)
Potatoes (can or box)
Pasta Meals (can)
Spaghetti Sauce (jar)
Peanut Butter (jar)
Dry Pasta (box)
Macaroni and Cheese (box)
Rice (bag or box)
Pop-top canned goods for homeless Care Bags
The Thanksgiving drive is always a busy time for our work with ACTC. We also collect food in April and May which are our months for our collection of food and donations for the Assistance Center of Towson Churches. We receive many donations from the congregation. Many thanks to those who have donated. With the summer coming, the children will not have the school meals. This will put more pressure on ACTC. Summer is not fun if you are hungry!
