New Worship Series: My Heart Shall Sing
This year’s worship theme, “My Heart Shall Sing,” is a celebration of the music of Christmas. Whether it’s playing in the background while shopping or on the radio during the drive home, the songs remind us that this time of year is truly special. The Bible tells the Christmas story through song as well.
From Jesus’ conception to His dedication at the temple, every moment is filled with music and wonder. Each song reveals something important about the arrival of this Child. This Advent, we’re tuning in to the sacred songs that filled the first Christmas. May your heart be filled with music throughout this season!
December 1: A Song of Hope (Hannah)
December 8: A Song of Peace (Mary)
December 15: A Song of Joy (Zechariah)
December 22: A Song of Love (Simeon)
Advent Devotional: Light from Afar
This Advent, embrace the Light from Afar, a unique devotional crafted by authors from Brazil, the Philippines, South Africa, and Ukraine. Each day offers reflections on beloved Christmas and Christian songs from their diverse cultures, inviting us to celebrate the season with fresh, global perspectives. As we gather in worship around the theme of Christmas carols, this book brings new meaning and beauty to songs both familiar and new.
Join us in reading daily, discovering how the melodies of faith from around the world can deepen our shared Advent experience and prepare our hearts for Christ’s birth. Books are available on Kindle or from the church for $14 each.
Throughout this devotional, the authors share songs from their countries. Listen to the music of the world here.
Service of Hope & Healing | December 1 at 7pm
How are you feeling approaching the Holidays? Are you dreading the Christmas rush, or feeling like this might be a bit of a “Blue Christmas”?
If that sounds like you, you are invited to take some time away from the noise by joining us for the Service of Hope and Healing on Sunday, December 1 at 7pm. In a quiet time of worship and prayer, you’ll find space to breathe and lay down your burdens.
Christmas Cookie Bazaar | December 7 from 9am–12pm
Excitement is mounting for our third annual Christmas Cookie Bazaar on Saturday, December 7 from 9am-12pm.
This year, we’re looking forward to purchasing amazing cookies and crafts–and we’ll also have a visit from Santa Claus himself! Volunteer now to bake cookies or make crafts for this fun event. Contact Kathy Davis to ask questions or sign up.
Christmas Giving Tree Project | Through December 15
Keep an eye out for our Christmas Giving Tree when you enter the church in the coming Sundays! To participate, simply take a red ornament—each one has a “wish” to fulfill—and return it by December 15.
If you’d like to help or make a financial contribution, please contact Lynn Henss or write “Christmas Project” on a check to Hunt’s Church.
