Summer Worship Series
This summer, we’re going beyond the Sunday School classroom to see what we can learn from the stories of God’s people.
From Youth Sunday (5/4) to Labor Day (8/31), we will gather for one unified worship service each Sunday. Join us for 10am worship with a variety of musical styles throughout the summer. Make sure to bring a lawn chair on holiday weekends, when we’ll take the worship service out to the Agape Lawn!

Noah
A flood, a boat of animals, a rainbow in the sky…we all know the story, right? But when we meet him beyond the Sunday School classroom, Noah teaches us about surviving the storms of life. When catastrophic challenges arise, God is with us in the storm. Because God is with us, we can build a boat before it rains and ride out the storms together.
- May 11: Build a Boat (Genesis 6:5-22)
- May 18: When Rain Falls (Genesis 7:1-16) – HUM Women’s Choir
- May 25: God Remembers Us (Genesis 7:17-8:4) – outdoor worship
- June 1: A Bow in the Clouds (Genesis 9:8-17)

Pentecost & Paul
Tongues of fire, the road to Damascus…we all know the story, right? But when we meet him beyond the Sunday School classroom, Paul shows us how faith can change the world. God gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit, which empowers us to take the good news of Jesus farther than we ever thought possible. Join us as we seek to be transformed by the Holy Spirit.
- June 8: Pentecost (John 14:8-17, Acts 2)
- June 15: Paul’s Conversion (Acts 9:1-19) – Guest Preacher, Pegg Melfa
- June 22: Paul & Silas (Acts 16:16-40) – Guest Preacher, Rev. Terri Dotterer

Ruth
Ruth, Naomi, Boaz…we all know the story, right? But when we meet her beyond the Sunday School classroom, Ruth shows us how to embody faithfulness in everyday life. God works through the everyday decisions of people like Ruth – and people like us – to bring redemption and hope. Join us as we seek to be bold and faithful, trusting in God’s promises to provide and restore.
- June 29: Where You Lead (Ruth 1)
- July 6: LovingKindness (Ruth 2) – outdoor worship
- July 13: Wholly Redeemed (Ruth 3-4)

Jonah
Jonah and the whale…we all know the story, right? But when we meet him beyond the Sunday School classroom, Jonah shows us the complexity and depths of God’s grace. Even though Jonah disobeyed God, failed in his mission, and clung to resentments – God still used him to turn lives around. Join us as we discover the depths of God’s compassion, forgiveness, and love.
- July 20: Running from God (Jonah 1)
- July 27: In the Belly of a Whale (Jonah 2)
- August 3: Transformed Lives (Jonah 3)
- August 10: Getting Some Perspective (Jonah 4)

Esther
Esther, Mordecai, Haman…we all know the story, right? But when we meet her beyond the Sunday School classroom, Esther shows us how to have courage in dangerous times. Even when her Jewish identity put her life at risk, Esther advocated for people who needed help. Through a tale of queens and power, we’ll discover God’s mysterious way of working through each of us.
- August 17: The Tale of Two Queens (Esther 1-2)
- August 24: For Just Such a Time as This (Esther 3-4)
- August 31: Speaking Truth to Power (Esther 7-8) – outdoor worship
